Sandra McTavish is the award-winning co-author of The Cricket War (Kids Can Press, 2023). The novel won the Canadian Children's Book Centre's Jean Little First-Novel Award, the Freeman Book Award for Children's and Young Adult Literature, and the Saskatchewan Willow and Delaware Diamond awards, with further shortlist and honour recognitions from the Forest of Reading, the Red Cedar Award, and USBBY. A former high school English teacher now working in educational publishing, Sandra divides her time between Toronto and a family farm in Madoc, Ontario, with her partner, Doug.
