Jenny Taylor-Whitehorn grew up on Prince Edward Island and now writes from Denver, Colorado. She earned an MFA in Screenwriting from UCLA, taking home the James Pendleton Award, the Larry Thor Memorial Award, and Oliver's Prize, and has since built development credits at Sony Crackle, DreamWorks TV, and NBC Universal; her comedy script EVERY LITTLE THING I WISHED I SAID TO YOU made the finals of the 2021 Austin Film Festival competition. She is still shepherding the country-tinged feature THE LOW PLACE through development with Ian Bryce Productions and is adapting the life of Make-A-Wish Foundation co-founder Frank Shankwitz for director Tom Putnam. Her most recent screenplay credit is PRIMA, a ballet drama marking the directorial debut of brothers Luca and Alessandro Morelli, now in post-production with Nicola Peltz Beckham, Faye Dunaway, Jack Huston, Mira Sorvino, and Betty Gabriel starring. Alana Duthie at The Gersh Agency represents her dramatic writing.
Jenny teaches screenwriting at Lighthouse Writers Workshop, where she received the 2024 Beacon Award for Teaching Excellence, and reads for the Colorado Film Commission. She moms two young kids, and a very old dog. As a writer, Jenny is a sucker for inappropriate things people say in times of sorrow, romantic comedy banter, and all the kissing parts.
