Alex Wood is a comedian and writer based in Toronto, and a veteran of the Canadian comedy scene. His stand-up has taken him from Just for Laughs and the Halifax Comedy Festival to national television and radio, with credits including CBC's Comedy Night with Rick Mercer, Kevin Hart's LOL Network, NBC's Today Show and Peacock, and Sirius XM. As a writer, Wood has contributed to Vice and The Beaverton, and his podcast, Alex Wood Quits Everything, earned a Canadian Comedy Award nomination before becoming the basis for his first book. That book, the memoir Float Like a Butterfly, Drink Mint Tea, was published by Arsenal Pulp Press in 2021; reviewing it, Quill & Quire called Wood "talented, interesting, and likeable."
